One of the biggest digital marketing summits
From February 26-28th, TAB had the privilege of attending one of the biggest digital marketing seminars with 5 stages, 100 speakers and over 200 exhibitors. Thousands of the smartest marketers met at the Marriott Marquis in San Diego in hopes of gathering up as much information about new traffic channels, conversion breakthroughs, selling models and much more.
Did you know that in 2017, Facebook and Google claimed approximately 60% of digital ad spend? With enhancements in video ads, lead ads, and segmented retargeting models, Facebook and Google are continuing to make it easier and cheaper to connect with consumers.
According to Ryan Deiss, founder and CEO of DigitalMarketer, there are 3 important shift in digital marketing we all need to be aware of:
- Conversation is the new lead
Customers want human interaction. Bots are for filtering—not closing the sale.
- Community is the new brand
There is a much bigger impact to be made from WHO is talking rather than WHAT is being said.
- The customer is the new power broker
Today there are so many ways the customer can purchase what they want. The customer truly holds all the power.
So how can we apply these ideas specifically to mobile marketing?
According to thisisglance.com, brand investment in apps is continuing to accelerate with brands across all vertical markets adding apps to their overall digital strategies. Mobile app development companies work with startups and small businesses too, from day spas to clubs to delivery services. These businesses want to help consumers connect in a way that makes sense in the context of their brand.
Small businesses should not simply want to reach people who use their app, but their connections on Facebook and other platforms with whom users share the end products of their app experiences with. Understanding these ideas will help you capitalize on the three big shifts of marketing and help prepare you for the future of marketing.
It was our first time here, but it definitely won’t be our last. We are looking forward to attending T&C for many years to come.
